AXXCELERA ANNOUNCES AB-MUX E1/T1 TO ATM CONVERTER
Allows Service Providers to Add Telecom Services to Data Networks SAN JOSE, Calif., Broadband Wireless World 2003 - April 9, 2003 - Axxcelera Broadband Wireless, a Moseley company and premier provider of broadband wireless communications products and technologies, today introduced the AB-Mux™, a E1/T1 to ATM converter, which allows service providers, carriers and enterprises to add voice capabilities to traditional and wireless data networks. Axxcelera will be exhibiting the AB-Mux product for the first time at the Broadband Wireless World 2003 conference, April 9 and 10, 2003, at the McEnery Convention Center in San Jose, Calif. - Booth # 214. Axxcelera's AB-Mux provides the ability to trunk up to 8 E1/T1 connections across a single ATM25 interface, using either traditional or wireless technology. The product can be programmed to carry full TDM data (Unstructured Data Type or UDT) or selected DS0s. The AB-Mux complements the low latency and ATM-based Axxcelera Broadband AB-Access™ point-to-point and point-to-multipoint wireless products, and will allow service providers to quickly and easily deliver E1/T1 services without the multi-week delay typically associated with waiting for wire line providers to install and provision T1 circuits. Pedro Andres, president of wireless network provider Neptuno Networks (www.neptunonetworks.com), stated, "A few months ago, I asked Axxcelera if adding T1 voice circuits to the AB-Access platform would be possible. Axxcelera quickly provided us with the details of a product development plan for the AB-Mux product and then delivered the first prototype units for us to try. With a successful trial and enthusiastic acceptance by our customer base, we have deployed dozens of AB-Mux products throughout Puerto Rico and The Dominican Republic. We are absolutely thrilled at the performance of the product and the opportunities it presents to us as network providers." "The ability to integrate E1/T1 services into LAN/WAN networks is a distinct advantage for ISPs, carriers, and enterprise customers - wireless or traditional - who desire to expand and leverage their investments into new markets," says Jamal Hamdani, president and CEO of Axxcelera. "This is especially true when those E1/T1 services can deliver and facilitate voice circuits rather than just data connections. The AB-Mux allows service providers to backhaul not only their customers' data traffic but also their voice circuit traffic."
